A chara,
Beannachtaí na hathbhliana oraibh go léir/ Happy New Year to you all – we hope you all had a nice Christmas and best wishes for 2025.

- Bailiúchán Séipéil/Church-gate Collection: Coiste na dTuistí/Parents’ Council have got permission from An Garda Síochána to hold a church-gate collection this coming weekend. Please contact Laura Carr if you can give a small amount of time to this fundraising activity.
- Comhghairdeas/Congratulations to M.Caoimhe who was crowned Line Dance Champion at the Country Dance World Championships which were held in Orlando over Christmas. Maith thú, a Chaoimhe!
- Éide Scoile/ School uniform is to be worn every day please! We would welcome any old but clean bottoms for our store please!
- Béiltí Te/Hot Lunches: Now might be a good time to review your child’s choice of hot lunch – you should have a fair idea of what they will/won’t eat at this stage but it never does any harm to have a chat with them about it.
- Tinreamh/ Attendance: The Aladdin system will notify you automatically by text when your child has missed 5,10, or 15 days. If your child reaches this threshold, please understand that if your child is late, they may already have been marked absent by their teacher and the text will have automatically have been sent . When they arrive, they will then be marked present, and their attendance will be updated. Would you believe that 10111 minutes of teaching time have been lost so far this year due to late arrival , that’s the equivalent of 168 days! Also, 312 days have been missed so far this year due to holidays. The school does not encourage parents to take their children out for holidays during school time. The school calendar is available at https://www.gaelscoildd.ie/feilire-na-bliana-school-calendar/ to assist you with planning your holidays.
- Foirgneamh nua/New Building: Works on the new building are continuing -not much new to be seen on the outside but plenty going on inside with electricals, fire-safety etc.
- Snámh/Swimming lessons have begun for Rang 1 and Rang 2. This can be paid for on Aladdin Connect. If you forgot to pay for swimming lessons for Rang 3 -Rang 6, or indeed the Photocopying /Art expenses, we’d appreciate if you could settle that bill also, as soon as possible.
